Research Documentation on the Manuscripts and rare printed Books of the Bavarian State Library
The research documentation on the manuscripts and rare printed books of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek has been continued in the form of an electronic online catalogue for a short while, which catalogue will be accessible via the homepage of the library. The project's aim is to digitise the card catalogue with approximately 120,000 entries and to integrate it in the database. For this purpose, the cards are scanned and some items of information are also entered by hand. These data are loaded into the database and combined with the images of the catalogue cards. It is intended to make the complete research documentation, which has so far been searchable on the spot only, generally accessible on the Internet.
